Churches In World’s First Jewish Homeland

With the Sochi Olympic Winter Games almost upon us, I thought it would be nice to show an unusual church and its more unusual location in the Russian Federation.

This beautiful little church called Church of St. Nikolas is located in the former Soviet Union, in the Jewish Autonomous Republic (JAR), the first Jewish homeland in the world.

Another little chapel is located in Birobidzhan City (more pictures).

As this website explains, the homeland for Jews was established 20 years before the scheming Zionists took over Palestine, and before WW2 had a population of over 200,000.

The reality, admitted even by Jewish sources such as the Encyclopedia Judaica, is that Birobidjan was a widely supported initiative to create a Jewish homeland, beginning in 1928 and formalised in 1934.

The region around Birobidjan by contrast was a large and virtually empty space, and an autonomous Jewish region was created amounting to 36,000 sq. km. This is almost the size of Switzerland (40,000 sq. km) and considerably larger in area than modern Israel (20,000 sq. km).

Far from Jews being forcibly exiled to Birobidjan, there were extensive worldwide efforts to promote this Soviet Jewish homeland project, including ‘Ambidjan’, the American Birobidjan Committee, whose officials included Albert Einstein and the prominent American Jewish author B.Z. Goldberg.

Unlike the politcal Zionist apartheid state of Israel, the JAR prefers international cooperation:

The Government of the Jewish Autonomous Region is entirely interested in the further development of foreign economic relations on the basis of mutual respect and mutual benefit, and also adjustment of new international relations in various spheres of economic and cultural cooperation.
