Should an Islamic fundamentalist change your Catholic prayer?

As a Catholic, would you let a Muslim imam dictate what your prayer should be? No? Then why does your church let a Jewish Zionist fundamentalist like Abraham Foxman change your Catholic prayers?

I went to church on Sunday and listened to the priest talk about “unity of the church” and “Christian unity.” I wondered what he was driving at. Then later I ran across this article posted by Brother Nathanial, a former Jew. He interviews Catholic professor/writer, Dr. E. Michael Jones who said a few things:

  • If Christian-Jewish dialogue is undertaken, “The Church can proclaim the Gospel or she can pursue good relations with the Jews. But she can’t do both.”
  • “dialogue is a synonym for Jewish subversion of Catholic teaching”
  • Culture Wars has broken the lock which has kept the Catholic mind under Jewish control for the past 40 years.”

Many Catholics might do well to note what Bishop Williamson asks:

If Benedict XVI is not a positive destroyer of the Church, then like John XXIII, Paul VI and John-Paul II before him, he is at least presiding over its destruction. A recent critique of Fr. Peter Scott’s excellent analysis of Benedict XVI’s latest Encyclical (accessible at angelqueen.org) raises once more the crucial question, have these Popes been aware of the destruction taking place under their responsibility ?

Thanks for introducing me to Brother Nathaniel. I read his conversion story — it was very moving. As for our over-sensitivity to Jewish concerns, it has definitely been a problem. But I think it’s true also that a great deal of trust had to be built up after WWII.

    I appreciate Mr. Ardenz’s comments.

As a Catholic,we are commanded to treat everyone, including Jews with respect.

Beyond that, we are commanded to love every person – including our enemies. Showing respect means seeing them justly – with prudence, kindness, meekness, reserve, wisdom and thinking the best of them at all times. We should give them the benefit of the doubt, put aside suspicions, not pre-judge and have mercy. When we see our neighbor sinning, we do not try to make it worse — nor do we seek to embarass, demean or condemn them.

However not let them run the Church!

    They don’t run the Church.

Judiasm is …a tribal faith, based on ethnic-blood lines and lacks all spirituality.

It depends on what you mean by spirituality – and because of that, this comment is non-informative.

It believes Jews have automatic salvation,by just being a “Chosen People”.

Reference please? In Catholic doctrine, nobody has automatic salvation. As for the Chosen People — St. Paul has already taught us that in Christ there is no Jew or Greek. The Chosen People are those who belong to His Kingdom – which is the Catholic Church. This is open to all who are baptised and embrace the Faith.

This allows Jews to be above mankinds cycle, giving them allowance to exploit, control, and even murder gentiles.

In my opinion, you’re resentful about something. It might be a good thing for you to go out and befriend some Jewish people. You might not like them at all (some that I have known I do not like) — but continue to try. Show them forgiveness, friendship, trust — and show them your humility. So, they want to claim that they’re better than anyone. This should not bother us. That claim is useless because we know the teaching of Christ, and they don’t. The last shall be first. Sadly, our Jewish friends don’t know this. Let’s not scowl at them, but rather – bring them with a smile of kindness to the truth that they’re missing.

They havean all or nothing attitude, and reject all compromise, and mercy.

That is the beauty of it. Let’s not judge them from afar, but from upclose. Let them know that you care. Seek out the worst of them — the angriest, most pompous, uncompromising and absorb some of that pain as a Cross for their redemption. That’s what Our Lord did — He absorbed their hatred. And then many glorious Jews became our Fathers in the Faith through that redemption.

The REAL record clearly shows the Jews pushed for,and cheered WW2.

Do you think St. Edith Stein did?

Interesting opinions — worth as much as opinions are worth. What profit this to Thy salvation???

Sure, Jews and unbelievers spread evil and do wrong. And yes, they have apologists and defenders and people who turn a blind eye. Our Enemy works hard.

I think your comments are exaggerated and not objective enough. But I also appreciate your zeal.
